Blog War Day 2 – Christmas In July

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Gee, the days are getting away from me this week, already Thursday!! Today I have put together a card today using Perfect Medium, Pearlescent Chalks, Gold Embossing, Star punch & Stamps on oatmeal card. The chalks give this card a nice shimmer that doesn’t show up very well in the photo. Any questions please ask.

REMINDER: Check out my Workshop Page Tab above if you would like to attend any of my Workshops during Aug/Sept.

Christmas in July (2)

This weeks Blog War Theme is “Christmas In July” It seems a little weird thinking about Christmas Cards already, but as a scrapbooker & card maker it pays to be organised early. I know alot of my friends & family look forward to receiving  my home made cards now!! the pressure is on to be organised.

Today’s card I have created with strips of double sided sticker paper, I have trimmed to size. Sticker paper (also known as JAK paper) comes in A4 size with 5 sheets per pack, for $8.95. You can find them on page 61 of the Current Catalogue & Project Book. I removed one side of the tape & stuck it down on to Crimson Bazzill then removed the second side of the tape, placed red & green glitter on, one colour at a time. I stamped the Friends & Tree Christmas Stamps with Warm Green Fluid Chalk onto White Bazzill, trimmed to size edged with green & mounted onto the card. I then adhered the Crimson Bazzill to a white card & finished by punching a small star from white cardstock & placing on top of the christmas tree.

MUM’S A WINNER!!!

I had a great time on Saturday racing all my son’s mates at the GO KART track for his 13th Birthday. Although I did come 2nd & 3rd in each of the 25 lap races. I DID however acheive the fastest lap time of the day, 23.81 seconds. I am a little bit of a rev head!! LOL. Never gonna let them live that one down. It was so much FUN!!!

“Red & Green” was this months ATC Theme, for our swap at Team Meeting this week. Above is the beautiful ATC’s that each Consultant created & mine’s on the left.

For our hands on activity at our Team Meeting, we all made the gorgeous white christmas card below, created by Cheryl Devlin. The other Green Christmas card I created, both cards using the NEW Christmas in July Stamps & Papers. Love them!!!

Christmas in July Stamps (2)

I received this (ATC) Artist Trading Card back in May from Julie Nankervis. Perfect for our Teddy Bears Picnic Blog War Theme. Julie has used the small,  medium circle punches & a metal hole punch to create this cute little bear.

My first baby turns 13 tomorrow. Happy Birthday Reece!! Just where does the time go? Wish me luck beating him at Go-Kart racing. GAME ON!!

I just love our new Scallop Paper Punches. I couldn’t wait to create something with them, once I received 2 of them in my last order this week. You can find our whole range of paper punches on page 62 of the Current Kaszazz Catalogue & Project Book.

The “Becky Bear” card above was very easy to create. I stamped Becky Bear, you make me smile & only inked up the flower stems (from the Spring Time Stamp Set) in Ancient Page Coal Black onto white gloss card. I punched Jumbo & Small scallops to create the flowers. I used Marmalade Bazzill & Envy Bazzill Bling to create the flowers & added Ice stickles to the centre of the flowers. I matted the saying with Marmalade also. Adhered it all to a black card. Great Card for a Beginner!!

Creative Fun With Friends!!

Aug/Sept Workshops – Check Out Page Tab Above

Today I was stamping with the 1821LC Button Corner un-mounted stamp, when I noticed the image I stamped looked a little like a bears face with ears. Then the Blog War Challenge (Teddy Bears Picnic) popped into my head. I just had to create this little bear with the stamp. I embossed 3 stamped Button Corners with 10014 Cocoa Bean embossing powder, cut them out & created a little bear. I also punched out a small circle to draw his face with a perma-ball pen. Remember your stamps can be used in different ways, always try & look outside the square to acheive the most results from them.
